It sure looks like I broke a lot of things today, but it only looks that way because I did break a lot of things today.

Most of that was an effort to rewrite the code, clean it up and get rid of some redundancies. In doing so, a lot of stuff got rearranged and now I get to work on putting shit back where it was.

The good news is, cleaner, better arranged code will make it easier to fix the issues when something goes wrong in the future, which was the whole reason I broke everything today.

I'm packing it in for now and heading home. I may try to get more done later, otherwise this is what it's like until tomorrow.

Also, just a reminder that we don't yet have a fucking swear filter installed, and all of this will be deleted (including your user accounts) when we are ready to import things from SMF.

See if there's a way to get the old tags [IMG] etc working.

Yup. Obviously not working yet.

The last two days I have been at work sites with no internet (not even a phone signal for calls or texts!) so I have t done anything.

I'm at the camp now. I may have a chance to try and get some more done over the weekend, but we will see.

I have a job interview on Monday so I took the day off- I'll try to get more done then.

At the risk of injury from patting myself on the back, I have to say that this forum is already in MUCH better shape than SMF was when we opened it up!

@SteveC yeah, this doesn't use standard BB code so the [IMG] and other tags we are used to no longer work.

There may be a plugin for that, but I'm not quite there yet.

Definitely looking more MTO-like than it was. I'm happy with the progress so far.

Also, replying to your own comment apparently disables the tag.

I also want to try again to fix the reply bar- there are too many icons, and on mobile it means one has to scroll to the side to upload images.

Ideally I can get rid of the Header, List, Link, and Zen Mode icons at the top. If I can't, maybe I can rearrange them so the stupid icons are off to the side so people don't have to scroll for the useful ones.

I got partway into doing Emojis (not the successful part unfortunately) and then had to leave.

It's my first job when I get back, but in the meantime the native emojis are a normal size.

Soon we will have normal MTO Emojis.

I feel like we are getting closer to the SMF look now.

I am posting this on my phone, and it seems to be working.

Mobile can be done but it's a pain in the ass. You have to turn your phone sideways so the screen. Goes wider but then everything gets very small.
