I recently received the new U1 Pro utility knife from OKnife and it does appear, at least at first glance, to be an upgrade from the usual utility blade holder folder. I’ve had a few of these kinds of knives over the years and I can appreciate the convenience of swapping out a dull blade for a sharp one, but my overall preference is for a more traditional type blade. Even so, I do recognize that this is a very attractive option for those who don’t know how or don’t like to sharpen things. When it comes to knife maintenance and emergency repairs, my go-to has always been a trusty Kershaw driver. But the OKnife Otacle D1 Brass Driver has introduced a touch of elegance and functionality I didn’t know I needed.

What kind of people would write collect and review multitools? Quite simple really- we are designers and do-ers, outdoors types and indoor types, mechanics, doctors, problem solvers and problem makers. As such, we have, as a world spanning community, put every type, size and version of multitool, multifunction knife, pocket knife and all related products to every test we could manage in as many places and environments as there are.
